► SYNTOPIAN VAGABOND |
The SYNTOPIAN VAGABOND is a project developed by MICHAELA ROTSCH as an artistic tool, an interface, which links various disciplines and institutions with public space. In addition the project provides a third interface between different public places in different cities: Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Brno, Olomouc, Baghdad from 2013 to 2015. |
The SYNTOPIAN VAGABOND works with a mobile, transparent structure (3 x 2 x 2 m) and a black artefact (www.gobotag.net), which reflects its surroundings. The concept is based on the idea of Syntopy, a term from biology and neurosciences. Referring to Syn- and Topos, it means that places and disciplines that are usually unconnected are brought together through the installations in the SYNTOPIAN VAGABOND at one specific place. The SYNTOPIAN VAGABOND is the interface in which these new connections become visible in one specific site in urban space. |
